Wayne L. Thomas of Yardley, PA died on Wednesday August 2, 2017 at his home at the age of 64.
Born in Waynesburg, PA, son of Virginia Thomas, he had been a Yardley-Makefield resident for the past 31 years.
Wayne retired as a Colonel in the United States Air Force and New Jersey Air National Guard. He then followed his military career as Northeast Area Director for Airports in the Department of Homeland Security, Transportation Security Administration. In retirement, he started a woodworking-carpentry business, Joseph-Wayne Designs and Bucks County Home Repair. He graduated from the California State University, Fresno, CA.
He is survived by his wife, Sharon M. Thomas; three children and two daughters-in-law Warren R. and Christy Booth and their son Sawyer of Doylestown, PA, Kariann M. Booth of Philadelphia, PA, and Andrew and Rebecca Thomas and their children Elora and Alistair of Furlong, PA. He also survived by his sisters, Juanita Nolte with her husband Fred of Pittsburg, PA, and Barbara Joseph with her husband Rick of Waynesburg, PA,
His funeral Mass will be celebrated at 12:30pm Tuesday at St. Ignatius Church, 999 Reading Avenue, Yardley, PA, where friends may call from 11am. Burial will follow at the Washington Crossing National Cemetery, Newtown, PA.
