Obituary of Wai Chen Huang

Dr. Wai-Chen "Raymond" Huang of Langhorne, PA, passed away peacefully on January 2, 2018, at Chandler Hall, Newtown PA, surrounded by loving family. He was 84 years old.
Born February 7, 1933, in Tainan, Taiwan, he was the son of Dr. Kuo Dong Huang and San Hau Liu. He graduated from National Taiwan University Medical School in 1960; practiced medicine at Tainan Relief Hospital before coming to the United States for training in Pediatrics at St. Mary Hospital, Huntington WV. He later returned to Tainan and started Yu An Pediatric Clinic, where he practiced for 27 years. He retired to the States to live with his son in Michigan after his wife for 35 years, Pei Ling, passed away in 1990. He married his wife, Chih, of Yardley PA in 1994, and lived in Yardley since. They later moved to Flowers Mill, Langhorne PA in 2011.
Raymond was a loving, passionate person with a great sense of humor beloved by friends and family. He was fluent in English, German, Taiwanese, Mandarin, Japanese, and Spanish. Raymond loved to travel and eat Japanese food, appreciated art and classical music, enjoyed reading German and Japanese novels. He was a great photographer and Chinese Calligrapher.
He is survived by his wife of 23 years, Chih Huang; along with four children, son Dr. Edgar & Grace Huang of Charleston WV, daughter Drs. Christina & Philip Liu of Bethesda MD, daughter Catherine Payne of Rockville MD, and stepson Dr. Charles Ho of Beverly MA; eight grandchildren Dr. Stephen Huang, Dr. Eric Huang, Shayna Liu JD, Tiffany Liu, Allison Liu, Kevin Liu, Olivia Peterson and Alexis Payne; four brothers Dr. Richard Huang of Biebertal Germany, Chong Chia Huang of Tainan, Taiwan, I Fong Huang of Hacienda Heights CA and I Jen Huang of Tainan, Taiwan; numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Raymond and Pei Ling will rest at Christina's Church, Bradley Hills Presbyterian Church, in Bethesda, MD, (bradleyhillschurch.org) where family and friends can visit.
A Memorial Service to celebrate Dr. Huang's life is to be held on March 10, 2018, at Grace Taiwanese American Presbyterian Church in Lawrenceville NJ, where he and Chih attended services for more than 20 years.
Instead of flowers, the Huang family wishes donations to be sent to Dr. Wai-Chen Raymond Huang Memorial Fund within Parkinson's Foundation (parkinson.org) and Grace Presbyterian Church (grace-tpc.org).
