George Mack Bieber, 93, of Yardley, PA, formerly of Shelocta, PA, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 7, 2018 at the Manor Care Oxford Valley facility.
He was born September 2, 1924 in Mausdale, Montour County, PA, the son of George Mack Bieber and Grace Louella (Hartanft) Hilner, Bieber. On July 24, 1954 he married Maxine Ruth Kimmel, who preceded him in death on March 8, 2014.
George graduated from Milton High School in 1942. He honorably served in the 53rd Armored Engineers Battalion in the US Army during WWII. Previously a resident of Lewisburg, George moved to Shelocta in 1980. He worked as a Territorial Manager for Rustcraft Card Company and Gibson Greeting Company. Upon retirement, George volunteered his time with VNA Family Hospice Services of Indiana County. A member of Elderton Presbyterian Church, he served as a deacon. He was a member of the VFW Lodge #1989. George loved spending time outdoors, collecting oil lamps and restoring antiques. Family and friends were what he cherished most and held dear to his heart throughout life.
His memory will be carried on with love by his daughters Lana Maxine Bennett (husband Kirk Bennett) of Flemington, NJ, and Pamela C Bieber (husband Neil Hamilton) of Indialantic, FL; grandsons Joshua Raymond Bennett (wife Jacquie) and Derick Mack Bennett (wife Courtney); and two great grandchildren. George was preceded in death by his parents and his siblings Jack Hilner, Lester Hilner, Martha Keiser, Ralph Hilner, Cameron Bieber, Mary Day, Evelyn Smith and Barbara Benfer.

A private burial will be conducted at the convenience of the family at the Elderton Cemetery, Elderton, Pennsylvania. Memorial gifts may be made in George's honor to VNA Family Hospice Services, 850 Hospital Rd, #3000, Indiana, PA 15701.
