I am so sadden to hear about Emily. I first met her when I was the Chaplain at Notre Dame High School. Not only did she look like Ellen Page the actress, but Emily was a bit like the character Juno. I guess we connected when she heard that I rode a motorcycle, and of course over our love for dogs. She and I kept in touch for about a year after she graduated, which was the same year that I was transferred. Heaven is a bit more joyful, even as we are sadden. I remembered her at my Mass this morning.

Emily was a very sweet and kind soul. During high school, when I had nobody else to talk to, she would go out of her way to talk to me and make sure I felt loved. She was someone who made a lasting impact on my life, just by being there. I am so sorry for your loss, and your family is in my prayers.
