Obituary of Mary M. Moculak

Mary M. Moculak of Yardley, PA passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 6, 2018 at her home surrounded by family. She was 92 years old. Born in Trenton, NJ, daughter of the late Thomas and Annie (Feeney) Martin, she lived in Yardley for the past 55 years. Mary was a dedicated homemaker and also managed the accounting for Yardley Hardware, a business she owned with her husband Joe. After her husband's death in 1987, she continued to successfully manage their multiple business properties. As a young woman, she got her start in business as a manager and buyer at Yards Department Store in Trenton, NJ. As the family matriarch, she adored spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She loved entertaining for holidays, and was known for her after church Sunday breakfast which included her famous scrambled eggs. She had a wonderful sense of humor and always saw the funny side of life. She enjoyed playing silly games with her great-grandchildren and stocked her home with candy and special treats for them. Mary was involved in the local community and was a long time member of the Martha Washington Garden Club and St. Ignatius Parish. She cherished her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and loved her pets, particularly her beloved dog, Hermetta. Her love of animals extended to her children's dogs, which were welcome at her home at any time. Wife of the late Joseph J. Moculak, she is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, William M. and Linda Moculak; two daughters and sons-in-law, Susan and John Bissert, and Jennifer and Gary McClure, all of Yardley; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30am Wednesday September 12th at St. Ignatius Church, 999 Reading Avenue, Yardley, PA. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery, Hamilton, NJ. Friends may call on Tuesday from 6pm to 8pm and on Wednesday from 9am to 10am at the FitzGerald-Sommer Funeral Home, 17 S. Delaware Avenue (River Road), Yardley, PA. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of donor's choice.
