Obituary of Claire V. Taylor

Claire V. Taylor Claire V. Taylor of Yardley, PA passed away on Sunday May 3, 2020 peacefully at her home surrounded by family at the age of 81. Born in Brooklyn, NY, daughter of the late William and Elizabeth (Colgan) Hennessey, she had been an area resident for the past ten years. Claire was a loving and devoted wife, she is survived by her husband of 59 years, Thomas J. Taylor. She was a wonderful mother to her 6 children, daughter Claire Herrera (Nelson), daughter Patricia O'Hora (Kevin), son Thomas W., (Ailene), daughter Maureen Jones (Joseph), son James (Ginnie), son Patrick (Dana). She was the sister to the late William S. Hennessey, the late Harry Hennessey, Elizabeth Nicholes Oltman, John Hennessey and Mary Homan. Proud grandmother to her 17 grandchildren. Claire had an enthusiastic love for life and always put the needs and concerns of others above her own. She and Tom raised their children in Bergen County NJ. Her large family was the centerpiece of her life which she looked after with great care. Claire greeted everyone that entered her home with a smile and always offered you a seat at her table. She loved the music of her generation, conversation with friends and family, and a strong cup of tea. In times of uncertainty, Claire would often advise to " just follow the yellow brick road "; pursue your own life's path. That advice has served us all well. Claire will be deeply missed by all those whose lives she touched. Claire's Funeral Mass, to be held on May 13, 2020, at 10:30am at St. Ignatius Church in Yardley, PA, will be a private service.
