Charles Maurice Weber, age 90, of Yardley, Pa. passed away on July 6, 2020. He was born on April 3, 1930, the only child of Maurice and Emily (Tissot) Weber in Vancouver, B.C., Canada. A graduate of Morrisville High School, Chuck was an alumni of Rider University and a loyal fan of the Rider men's basketball team, attending many home games to cheer on the Broncs. From February 1961 until February 2020, he worked for The Gandelman Insurance Agency. Proud to fly the American flag, he enlisted and served in the Army National Guard during the Korean War. In June 1954, Chuck and Dolores M. Little of Pennington were married in Trenton, N.J. and raised five children. They were faithful members of St. Ignatius Church for more than 60 years. While Dolores served as organist and choir director for many years, Chuck worked with the Social Action Committee and coordinated its twice-yearly furniture drives. Both of them were devoted participants in the Perpetual Adoration Chapel for more than 15 years. Also as a couple, they were active volunteers in the Yardley-Makefield Emergency Unit -- Dolores as a founding member and RN, joined later by Chuck as a driver. They were recognized for their years of dedicated service in 1983. In addition to his abiding pride in and devotion to his family, service was a centerpiece of Chuck's life. He was involved in many organizations over the years, including as secretary of the Yardley-Makefield Jaycees in the 1960s and Big Brothers-Big Sisters during the 80s, honored as the 1986 Big Brother of the Year. As coordinator/volunteer of the Interfaith Housing Development Corporation of Bucks County, he helped address the need for affordable housing in various communities. He worked with other volunteers rehabbing many houses during the 1990s, was awarded the 1996 Bronze Hammer and was recognized in December 2005 for Outstanding Volunteer Service. As the new century dawned, he turned his attention to helping out as a literacy volunteer at the Trenton Area Soup Kitchen. After Dolores passed away at Chandler Hall in 2011, Chuck spent the next 7 years volunteering his time visiting with nursing home's residents. In his early 20s, tennis became Chuck's passion and he joined the Arborlea Tennis Club in Morrisville, serving as its president for more than 10 years. Chuck and Dolores also loved to travel and as a couple and often with the family, they visited all 50 states and 63 countries. Chuck is preceded in death by his parents, and his wife, Dolores. He is survived by his children: Barbara (Dale) Lyon, Ann (Anthony) Masullo, Paul (Barbara) Weber, Joan (Jerry) Maggio, and Leslie (Bill) Flick; 16 grandchildren; and 9 great-grandchildren. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Ignatius Church, 999 Reading Avenue, Yardley at 11AM on Wednesday, July 8th, where friends may call from 9:45am, followed by burial in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the MS Society of Pennsylvania.
