I am writing with deepest condolences and sadness to learn of the passing of Dr. Evangelista (Dr. E). I had the privilege of working with Dr. Evangelista as the manager at urgent care. I will never forget his endless dedication to his patients and his wealth of medical knowledge that he shared freely with the staff. I admired his composure, despite non-stop patient volume and interruptions, outdone only by his inconspicuous sense of humor, and how he always knew when it was needed to lighten the mood and the stress of caring for the sick and injured. I consider myself so fortunate to have worked with Dr. Evangelista, and to have been a recipient of his wisdom and kindness. I will never forget when he called to let me know about the emergent hospitalization of Mrs. Evangelista, and feeling the devastation in his voice. Although I am sad that he is no longer with us, I am comforted to know that he is reunited with Mrs. Evangelista, together in the arms of our Lord.
Rest in peace, Dr. E, you are a dedicated physician and husband, a polished and pleasant professional, and I am forever grateful to have worked with you. To the family of Dr. Evangelista, may happy memories bring you comfort and peace, and know that your parents will always be with you.

I just want you to know what I think of your dad and I miss him very much too. You see, your dad and I trained together during our Residency Training and we really became close friends. There were times when work assignments were difficult for us as when a medical case was was too challengin for us to handle. We were always there for both of us to take care of our patients.Our frienship flourished because we seemed to understand what each of us wanted for ourselves. When I first met your dad, I thought that we would never click. He was quiet, reserved, almost unapproachable. But when I came to really know him, we becme each other's best friend. When my youngest daughter was baptized, my wife and I got him as her god-father. After we completed our residency training, we both decided to work in a smaller city, in Wheeling West Virginia. which had a modern, well equipped hospital .that was suited for what we learned in our training. The hospital and the place was a great place to work in, but we both missed what we wanted for children- the education we wanted for them. So back to Philly we went. We went our separate ways, but we kept in touch. Your dad impressed me as one who really loved his profession and his family. Both the practice of medicine were itertwined with each other. Like everyone else, we realized that we had to work hard in our profession to give the best we could obtain for our family. Your dad must have worked for over 40 years. He had no problem looking for a hospital or clinic because he was well qulified for the job he was applying for.He was dedicated to his work. He rendered compassionate care and professionalism to his patient. Despite being busy at work, we always remembered to keep in touch with each other, greeting and calling each other on holidays and special occasions. I cannot forget one special day when we met at Oxford Valley mall and he handed me a box/sack of delicious avocados and "persimmons". Now he is suddenly gone.I know and I can feel what and how you feel. I miss him too. Very much!!. I am sure he is now at peace and free of the pains and sufferings handed to us by our original sin. Let us all continue to pray for him. I am sure he is doing the same for us. May our Blessed Mother take him into Her care. May our Almighty Father keep him forever in the palm of his hand. Till we meet again, dear friend, Tito.

I’ll miss his calls esp on Christmas and New Years and in betweens. He’d call just to ask how our kids are doing. Years ago, I got sick and he called and said, “don’t worry Becky! It’s treatable, you’ll be okay” and coming from him, it gave me peace of mind.He was kind and thoughtful and I’m blessed to call him “my uncle”

Daddy was a very quiet, soft-spoken and a private person. He was the youngest of 7 siblings from a humble family in the Philippines who pursued a career in medicine. He was very dedicated to his profession up until the end of his life. It was truly his calling to help the sick. He was very well-liked by his patients and so 3 to 4 generations of families stayed loyal to his practice in Philadelphia until he retired from his private medical clinic.
As a husband and a father, he made many sacrifices to immigrate and search for a career opportunity here in the U.S. leaving behind a young family and his beloved parents. His hard work and sacrifices paid off...he became a very successful ER doctor in many trauma hospitals, practiced in his private medical clinic for more than 30 years and retired as a Medical Director in the U.S. Postal Service.
As a father and grandfather, he was kind, patient, simple, proud but yet stays humble. He was never lavish ... his idea of a vacation was actually attending medical conferences in different states. He was an avid gardener and considered himself an agriculturist as well as a collector of stamps, coins and memorabilia. He was never shy to show his love and affection to his family. He always instilled to his kids and grandkids that working hard always pays off.
He will be greatly missed by all of us...We love you very much...
