Robert D. Kuenzig
Robert Duane Kuenzig of Washington Crossing, PA died peacefully on Wednesday, December 30, 2020 at the St. Mary Medical Center in Langhorne, PA. He was 91.
Born in Pittsburgh, PA, son the late Joseph and Edith Taylor Kuenzig, he resided in Bucks County for the past 47 years.
A mechanical engineer, Bob was a graduate of the Carnegie Mellon University of Pittsburgh, PA. He had a long and distinguished career with Mobil Oil Corporation in Pennington, NJ as a Project Manager, and continued to be active in the Bucks County Annuitants Club for Mobil retirees.
Bob served in the US Army during the Korean War and was assigned to the Eighth Infantry Division Band as its ceremonial bagpiper. He and Ruth loved to travel and had been to all seven continents, including Antarctica. He was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers football fan.
He is survived by his wife, Ruth Kuenzig, three daughters and sons-in-law, Sharon and Harry Latsch of Yardley, PA, Rebecca and John Evans of Newtown, PA and Eva Kuenzig and Joseph Martinez of Lynchburg, VA, two sisters, Jeanne Power of Albany, NY and Joan (Edmund) Gomes of Saco, ME, seven grandchildren, Corey (Amber) Latsch, Christopher (Regina Weston) Latsch, Katie (Charles) Long, Faith Evans, Liam, Alexandra and Charlotte Roach and two great grandchildren, Emma Latsch and Charlie Long. He was the brother of the late John Kuenzig of Dyer, Indiana.
Burial with military honors will be on Thursday, January 7, 2021 at 11am at the Washington Crossing National Cemetery, 830 Highland Road, Newtown, PA. Ruth will have a memorial service in the spring of 2021. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to The Carnegie Mellon University College of Fine Arts, School of Drama, designated to the Crystal Gomes Memorial Award, CFC106A, 5000 Forbes Ave, Pittsburgh, PA 15213, or to the charity of your choice.
