Maria A. Mullin
Maria A. Mullin, of Collegeville, PA, passed away on May 30, 2021. She was 80.
Maria was born on January 18, 1941, on Staten Island, New York. She was the sixth of seven children born to Gaetano and Rose Petrone, immigrants from Naples, Italy. After graduating with honors from High School, Maria worked as an executive administrative assistant at Lehman Brothers Inc. in Manhattan’s Financial District.
On September 1, 1962, Maria married Eugene E. Mullin, Jr. They had three sons and moved to Margaretville, NY to raise their family in the Catskill Mountains. In addition to being a devoted wife, mother and home maker, Maria worked several jobs to help support the family and fund her children’s education. She was proofreader at the Catskill Mountain Newsand an administrative assistant in the New York State office for People with Disabilities. Maria obtained her New York State Real Estate License and had a successful career as a real estate agent and was known for her honesty and integrity.
Maria volunteered at Margaretville Memorial Hospital, sang in the Community Chorale of the Catskills, and was an active member of St. Francis DeSales Parish in Phoenicia, NY. In 1998, Maria and her husband moved to Collegeville, PA, to be closer to their family.
Maria enjoyed preparing special meals, baking delicious pastries and cookies. Maria also loved to dance; but she especially loved being with her grandchildren.
Maria is survived by her husband Eugene E. Mullin Jr. of Collegeville, PA; three sons: Eugene T. Mullin of Audubon, PA, Paul D. Mullin, MD of Woodstock, NY, Guy S. Mullin, MD, of Yardley PA; a brother, Gaetano Petrone, of Staten Island, NY; six grandchildren, and one great-grandson.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 12pm on Tuesday, June 22nd, at St. Andrew Catholic Church, 81 Swamp Road, Newtown, PA. Burial will follow at All Saints Cemetery, Newtown, PA.
