Obituary of Carmen Rivera

Carmen Rivera of Yardley, PA passed away of cancer on Monday on July 19, 2021, at her home surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Quebec, Canada, she was a daughter of the late Trefflé Thibault and Aimee Gagnon Thibault.

Carmen lived in Yardley since 1960 where she raised her four children with great care and devotion. She was an outstanding cook and enjoyed hosting dinner for her neighbors and friends. Carmen’s generous spirit was always present and was the first to offer a helping hand. She found great joy in being with her grandchildren and their children.She will also be sadly missed by her beloved dog “little boy” Snuggles.

Wife of the late Guillermo Rivera and mother of the late Mary Lyn Rivera and Aurele Rivera, she is survived by her sons, William Rivera of Yardley, PA, and Richard Rivera of Byron, GA, loving grandmotherLee Nolan and his wife, Jessica, Jacquelyn Rivera,and Kelsey Rivera; loving great grandmother ofJoseph and Jenna Nolan, Gavin Rivera, and Gunner Vuolo; two sisters, Doris and Therese, and daughter-in-law, Patti Shaw.

Friends are invited to call on Monday July 26th from 9am to 10:15am at the FitzGerald-Sommer Funeral Home, 17 S. Delaware Avenue, Yardley, PA. Her funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11am at St. Ignatius Church, 999 Reading Avenue, Yardley. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery.
