Karen Kistler Ward and Douglas Edwin Ward

Karen was born on April 13, 1950 in Providence, Rhode Island, and passed away December 8, 2020 in Bucks County, PA.

Douglas was born on February 8, 1949 in Prince Frederick, Maryland and passed away December 26, 2020 in Bucks County, PA.

A gathering of friends and family will take place on Friday, September, 3, 2021, from 6-8pm at All Saints Episcopal Church Parish Hall in Sunderland, Maryland. Due to Covid restrictions, masks are required in all church buildings. The family will hold private services at a later date.

Karen and Doug were both raised on Ward Road in Dunkirk, Maryland, and graduated from Calvert Senior High School. After his service in the Navy, Doug and Karen were married in 1972.

Karen was a well respected optician in Waldorf, Maryland, and quite active in her church community, serving on the vestry, Episcopal Church Women, and singing in the choir. In addition, she volunteered her time with Calvert Meals on Wheels and fitted eyeglasses for the homeless with the Maryland Society for Sight.

Doug held a much loved career as a Police Officer with the Maryland Department of Natural Resources in addition to working his family farm. He was an avid hunter, sportsman, and naturalist, giving much of his time to providing food for those in need as well as supporting causes that served the land.

They leave their daughter, Katharine Ward Revak and her husband, Jeffrey J. Revak of Bucks County, PA, grandchildren Jackson and Caroline, as well as many cherished siblings, extended family, and dear friends.
