Marlene S. Mannion
Marlene S. Mannion of Langhorne, PA, passed away peacefully on Monday September 13, 2021 at Pickering Manor in Newtown, PA. She was 82.
Born in Carbondale, PA, daughter of the late Peter and Genevieve Mozeliak Sopko, she has resided in Bucks County for the past 55 years living in Yardley, Newtown, Bensalem and most recently Langhorne.
Marlene was an administrator for New Jersey Manufacturers Insurance (NJM Insurance Group) for 30 years, and a member of its 25 Year Club. She enjoyed memberships in St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Seniors, Neshaminy Senior Activity Center, the Gibson Girls Red Hat Society and the Salem Manor Activity Committee. In her younger years, she enjoyed traveling abroad with friends, ballroom dancing, and helping students as a Band Booster for the Pennsbury Marching Band. She was a dedicated mother and proud grandmother first and foremost. She treasured her daughter and grandchildren and embraced every moment spent with them. She especially loved her role as Nana. She will be dearly missed and forever in our hearts.
Marlene is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Jeanine and Scott Medrow; three grandchildren, Allison, Brian, and Evan Medrow,and a niece and two nephews, Lynn, Gene, and Mark Jaczynski. She was the sister of the late Romayne Jaczynski, Jean Ann, Michael (her twin) and Peter Eugene Sopko.
Her funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10am on Friday September 17, 2021, at St. Ignatius Church, 999 Reading Avenue, Yardley, PA. Burial will follow at Mother of Sorrows Cemetery in Carbondale, PA. Friends may call on Thursday from 6pm to 8pm at the FitzGerald-Sommer Funeral Home, 17 S. Delaware Avenue in Yardley.
