In January 2006, I joined Yardley Borough Council. Prior to that I did not know Katherine, but as we served together we became close friends and collaborators. For twelve years we served together and with the rest of Council, oversaw the most dramatic revitalization of a community that had been devastated by three catastrophic floods in 23 months. The challenges were enormous but we worked hard and the result is the vibrant, and delightful community we all now enjoy. Katherine is the most under appreciated public servant that I have ever had the pleasure to work with in twenty years of public service. She was always prepared, understood the issues and worked hard to achieve the best policy result. She performed with grace and great dignity even under the most difficult of circumstances. Yardley misses her, and owes her an enormous debt of gratitude.
