Donald R. Stilwell
Donald R. Stillwell, 87, of Upper Makefield Township, PA died on Thursday February 17, 2022, at the Jefferson Torresdale Hospital in Philadelphia, PA.
Born and raised in Morrisville, PA, a son of the late C. Russell and Charlotte Scarborough Stilwell, he has resided in Upper Makefield for the past 66 years.
Don was a graduate of Morrisville High School where he was a starter on the basketball team. He then joined the family business, Stilwell Soft Drink Distributors, in Morrisville where he worked until his retirement. Don was an avid and skilled outdoorsman who relished fishing, hunting and boating. He volunteered for 20 years with the Annual Christmas Reenactment of the Crossing of the Delaware, safety boat crew. Don was a member of many organizations, including Commander of a local chapter of the US Coast Guard Auxiliary, Newton Reliance Company and a charter member of the Upper Makefield Fire Company.
He is survived by his wife, Lillian Nowalinski Stilwell; a son, Timothy J. Stilwell of Titusville, NJ; a daughter and son-in-law, Christine A. and Gary Mohacsi of Lower Makefield Twp., PA; two grandchildren, Thomas D. Mohacsi and Samuel N. Stilwell, and one great grandson, Neil Mohacsi. He was the father of the late, David C. Stilwell.
Friends may call on Tuesday March 15, 2022, from 8:30am to 9:45am at the FitzGerald-Sommer Funeral Home, 17 S. Delaware Avenue (River Road), Yardley, PA. His funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30am at St. Ignatius Church, 999 Reading Avenue, Yardley, PA. Burial will follow in the parish Cemetery.
