La mia famiglia lost another hold out from the good ol days. One like us who remembers when life was good, family was everything, God was recognized, and the world we grew up in is NOTHING compared to this world of today. We are children of immigrants who came here LEGALLY for a better life. Little money, new land, new language, racial prejudices, no welfare like today. Then soon would come the great depression then a world war, followed by another and still we survived. Our fathers and uncles served their new country proudly and we still survived. From humble beginnings in Brooklyn we came, never forgetting our heritage and customs. We all grew up there together and slowly moved away and that close knit started to frey. Scattered coast to coast now are the remnants of that era. We who lived it all remember the good ol days. Big family dinners at grandmas, holiday gatherings, weddings, child births, and of course the last act, death. I'm gonna miss my cousin Carol Olivia as she like me are dinosaurs. To me she was one of the last ones I could talk to who remember and loved and miss the world we grew up in. I know she's with Christ, her husband Gus and loving family now who have left before us. Please say hi from me Carol, give em a big hug. May you rest now as we continue to survive. May God bless your soul.
