Obituary of Alan D. Dilliplane

Alan David Dilliplane left his earthly body on August 8 th , 2023. He was surrounded by
his loving family.
Born on December 13 th , 1932, he lived his entire life in Yardley/Makefield. Alan
graduated from Pennsbury High School in 1950 and attended classes at Penco Tech.
After starting the Dilliplane Fuel business, his red oil truck was seen locally for 38 years.
Not being on a time clock, he was able to chat with customers, and enjoy coffee breaks at Phil's
Drug Store and Steaks & Things. After retirement, he and his friends had a regular table at Mil-
Lee's restaurant.
Forever in their hearts and minds, Alan is survived by his beloved wife of 66 years, Edna
Patterson Dilliplane, 3 sons and daughters-in-law, Tim and Jodi of Bethel Park, PA, Steve and
Nancy of Buckingham, PA, and Ron and Mary T. of Morrisville, PA. He is survived as well by 8
grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. His family was always most important to him.
When not working, Alan enjoyed gathering for holidays, birthdays, picnics, and pool
parties with his family and friends. He enjoyed being outdoors in the woods or along a stream for
hunting, fishing, and bird watching or for just being there in nature.
After retirement, he and Edna traveled to several awesome national parks in the U.S.
including Alaska and Hawaii as well as Canada.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 21, 2023, at 2:00pm at the FitzGerald-Sommer Funeral Home 17 S. Delaware Ave. Yardley, PA 19067. Visitation for family and friends will be held from 1:00pm to 2:00pm at the funeral home.
Memorial donations may be made to Chandler Hall Hospice, St. Judes Hospital for
Children, or a charity of the donor's choice.
