I always thought Sandi was so pretty and fun to be around. Since she was 5 years older I looked up to her as a really cool teenager when we came to visit the family each year. I thought the 3 story white house they lived in was so cool, with all those stairs to climb to the bedrooms. When she and John bought Aunt Do and Uncle Phil's house I remember her always fussing about in the kitchen. She loved to be a hostess like Aunt Do. As I grew up to be a bit more of an adult peer, I remember her coming to see us at the Maas house where we stayed. Boy, could she ever talk! A lot and fast. I loved that New England accent! She was always so fun to be around. Uncle Phil talked about Jack and Mark with so much love and pride. I missed not living closer to you all. All my love to Glenn, Del, and John. I can also feel my dad's love coming to you from above. Family is everything. Jackie Z Cook

We loved Sandi. My daughter, Laura, especially loved John and Sandi. They were the only ones for whom she would practice her dance recital routine. For Sandi’s 50th birthday, she wanted to buy Sandi a book. She was about 8 years old. When I took her to the book store, the sales person brought her to the children’s section. Laura told her, “My friend is 50!”
