I Met Don and Phyllis in 1972 when we lived opposite them in Pineville. Don was a very interesting man, he trained the First astronauts at Johnsville Naval Air Station where he worked, his photos and stories were amazing. He also was a great wine connoisseur and because of this he became a collector of cork screws. He belonged to the very elite club of cork screw collectors, and went to events they held all over the country and some abroad. Don even hosted an event in PA ,which took a terrific amount of time to organize. He flew light airplanes, loved cars and entered them into many car shows, meticulously cleaning the engines so they looked brand new. He and Phyllis had a wonderful life together, they travelled to England and stayed and visited my family over there and whenever my mother visited here they were so kind and always took her out for the day. Because he so enjoyed visiting the pubs in England, upon his return he built a wonderful pub in his basement, which we all enjoyed very much fun! They are sadly missed but I know they are now together, playing with their beloved dogs and drinking fine wines.
