Maureen and I would take our four kids on many adventures! We took them to Rehoboth Beach in the summer. We let them get their first tattoos ! We took them to the Kennedy Center for their first show. The girls got their ears pierced together. We went trick or treating, had Easter egg hunts, picnics, etc. But in the most difficult of situations, my divorce, my grandmother passing, Maureen was the one person that was there for me. The one who I looked to for strength and solace. While we lost a great deal of time, unfortunately for us both, reconnecting was easy. Mutual love and respect still intact. Maureen told me she wished she was stronger. Well, I don’t know many people who have the strength that she had. She loved her family fiercely and would do anything she could for them, and did. Oona and Dylan the loves of her life. I told her recently that I loved her smile. It was a warm and loving smile. Just like the woman who wore it. Warm and loving. I will always be grateful for our reconnecting. She was a light that I had missed for a long time.
