Obituary of Jean C. Lucci
Please share a memory of Jean to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Jean Lucci, 79, of Yardley, Pa. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, teacher, and friend. Jean passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, leaving behind a legacy of warmth, compassion, and inspiration.
Born and raised in Burlington, New Jersey, Jean was the daughter of Ella and James (Knox) Buccigrosse, who preceded her in death. She carried the values instilled by her parents throughout her life—kindness, resilience, and a deep commitment to family and community.
Jean was a loving wife to her husband, Al Lucci, for the past 57 years. She was the proud mother of two children, Stephanie Lucci-May and Justin Lucci. They were both an incredible source of pride for her. She found immense happiness in being the grandmother of Chloe and Rocco May. Her love for them was boundless, and she celebrated their every achievement with great enthusiasm. She never missed a horse show or football game, concert or graduation. She was the type of grandmom who was always ready to have fun–cracking jokes, playing games, just ready to have a good time. She loved to take trips with them, especially to her favorite places–Italy and Martha's Vineyard. They will miss her terribly. Jean was also blessed with a wide circle of friends who cherished her vibrant spirit, thoughtful nature, and kind heart.
Born with a natural gift for teaching, Jean dedicated her career to educating and inspiring generations of students with her passion for learning and her unwavering belief in their potential. She taught at Grey Nun Academy but spent the majority of her career teaching 4th grade at St. John the Evangelist where she was loved for more than 25 years. Her classroom was not just a place of education but a haven of encouragement and support. Jean's impact on her students extended far beyond the walls of her school, as she became a lifelong mentor to many.
Her gentle strength, kindness, and commitment to those she loved will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Jean's presence was a gift to her family, friends, and the countless lives she touched.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, November 23, 2024, from 9:00-11:00 am at St. John the Evangelist Church 752 Big Oak Road Morrisville, Pa, followed by a funeral mass at 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made in Jean's memory to either St. John the Evangelist Church or to the American Cancer Society. May Jean's memory be a blessing and her legacy of love and generosity live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
Arrangements are under the care of the FitzGerald-Sommer Funeral Home 17 S. Delaware Avenue Yardley, PA 19067. Condolences for the family can be left at www.fitzgeraldsommerfuneralhome.com.
