Marcia D. Volpe
Marcia "Marcy" D. Volpe, 76, of Lower Makefield Township, PA, passed away suddenly on Friday, October 27, 2023, at her home.
After graduating from Little Flower Catholic High School for Girls in Philadelphia, Marcy began working in Bristol, PA, for Rohm and Haas (now Dow Chemical) as a secretary in its executive offices. After a long career, she retired to concentrate on the things she loved the most: cooking, baking, shopping, lunching with her closest friends, and most importantly, doting on her twin grandchildren. Marcy also enjoyed working and using her communication skills in sales for PartyLite Candles.
She moved to Yardley in 1983 and enjoyed her home where she could listen to music (Doo-Wop and the King himself, Mr. Elvis Presley, were her favorites), shop on QVC, cook for family and friends, and cheer on the Fightin Phils. If you attended a dinner at Marcy's, you went home stuffed and happy—and possibly with a cavity!
Marcy is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Tom and Jessica Volpe of Lower Makefield; her former partner, Lou Volpe; her twin grandchildren, Lilyanna and Finn Volpe; and good friend, "Uncle Dick" Richard Hartung, who was there always and at the very end.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, November 2, 2023, at 11:30am, at the FitzGerald-Sommer Funeral Home, 17 S. Delaware Avenue (River Road), Yardley, PA. Friends may call from 10:00 - 11:30 am.
