One descriptive reference is repeated over and over in the tributes left for Roland, that being he was the consummate “Gentleman”. The depth of his loss to our legal community cannot be measured, but I think was best described by the heartfelt tribute left my Judge Cherkos. We all loved Roland, never more than when he would get frustrated by our “outrageous” demands, and in no uncertain terms, let us know about it. His wife, Lynn, was the love of his life and his family meant everything to him. Part of our collective heart will feel this loss forever. Prayers and blessings to the Formidoni Family.

I had the privilege of knowing Dee for many years through his legal work, and cannot think of a more kind and gentle person. He had a ready smile and was well known for his warmth and decency. I offer my sincere condolences to his entire family, and I hope that your many memories of him will bring you comfort.

So sorry for your loss, Chris and family. If your father was anything like the son he raised, he must have been an amazing person. Proud to donate to the Health Fund in his memory.

Lynn and family,
I am so very sorry to hear of Dee’s passing. I last saw him several years ago at Freddie’s and we shared some memories of fun at TCC. Dee was always such a gentleman. You are all in my thoughts and prayers.

My dear Lynn and the family of my wonderful friend Dee. When I first went on the bench in 2013, I knew little about Worker’s Compensation. I was lucky enough to have a great group of attorneys appear before me both in Trenton and Toms River, from whom I learned the ins and outs of comp court chief among them was Roland Formidoni. We became friends immediately. Later , he would bring Lynn to help with the files. I so enjoyed spending time with both, back when court was live and in person. I considered Dee my dear friend and Lynn as well. I have missed both of you since my retirement and have been meaning to set up a dinner date, but alas I waited too long as the Lord had other plans. Dee was a consummate professional, a true gentleman in every sense of the word and an outstanding lawyer. I consider myself blessed to have had the opportunity to work with him and learn from him. His cheerfulness brought joy to my chambers. He was a class act and a true giant of the worker’s compensation family. Lynn, and family, you have my deepest sympathy. If I may be so bold, I would submit that you should feel very blessed to have had a lifetime with such a wonderful man. I know I feel blessed for the 12 years that I have had the honor of knowing him. God bless you Dee and Lynn and your family. With the deepest respect and affection, Russell P Cherkos, SJWC (Ret.)

Dee will always be a big part of my fondest Trenton Workers Compensation memories. He was always around and always such a positive person. I learned much about work and life and family goals, from just being around him. He is deeply missed and fondly remembered always, Monique Moran

The Mercer County Bar was relatively small when I began practicing law in 1971. I met Dee shortly after I passed the Bar and began practicing law with the Legal Aid Society of Mercer County.
The same small group of attorneys who litigated cases would appear at every motion day. There was an instant camaraderie between Dee and me. He was above all a true gentleman, a talented lawyer and a terrific role model. I have not litigated in years and I have not seen Dee for a number of years, but his kindness and warmth will never be forgotten.
My condolences to Dee's family. He will be missed.

Roland was a good man, a classic gentleman. Early in my career as a Workers’ Compensation lawyer, he was my opponent in a hard-fought trial. By the end of the trial, which we talked about for years afterwords, I saw him as a respected elder and treated him with the same kindness and respect he always showed me. There were only a few lawyers, especially on the opposing side, whom I would call for advice when I needed it. Roland was one of them.
No doubt he is a great loss to his loving family. May he always be remembered with kindness and respect.
